Born to Cuban parents in search of a new future, Steph arrived in the U.S. as an infant refugee. from florida, to texas, and finally new york, her worldview has been shaped by the immigrant experience and the implications that came with it. this earned perspective informs her approach—how she builds narratives, finds meaning in details, and creates work that resonates.
Her passion for film acts as a lens through which she makes sense of the world—and while dreams of writing her own consume her free time, they continue to be a driving force of inspiration in her daily work.
