To match the experience of the MetaQuest Store to the worlds it has to offer, we put together an incredible team of talented designers, animators, copywriters, and 3D artists to create a design system that would push the boundaries of branding for assets at a scale within a 3D space.
UNBOUND was inspired by the freedom that VR provides to move in any direction you wish, without limitations. We created a system of endlessly scalable, flexible components that went way past the typical brand guidelines. This gave birth to a briefing tool for clients to communicate their vision during fast-moving campaigns, resulting in the creation of thousands of assets.
This system resulted in the creation of over a thousand assets within the year for simultaneous campaigns, turning the storefront itself into an immersive experience.







































What made this design system different from others is that it includes an interactive briefing tool, the Equalizer. We separated the design system into seven major components that make up the scene, objects, and layout in any given asset. The Equalizer allows one to scale the components up or down, creating one of thousands of possible combinations, and giving designers clear direction on how to move forward.
